NYU Steinhardt is having a benefit concert named Music for the People for the Ed Sullivan Fellows (ESF) Program, now named the CORE Music Program. CORE is NYU’s community arts mentorship lab for young musicians and supports creatives ages 14-22 in building music and industry skills to explore, develop, and launch their creative careers.  Now in its third year, the CORE Music Program is a joint project of the NYU Music Experience Design Lab (MusEDLab), the Program in Music Education, and NYU Steinhardt with the express purpose of serving the needs of young artists of color growing up in New York City.

Each participant enjoys personalized mentorship that supports and monitors their progress over the course of their time in the program, as well as unprecedented access to music industry resources at NYU and in NYC. Access is one of the main issues faced by young adults not currently enrolled in a four-year college due to attrition, financial constraint, and disconnect with career goals. CORE Music participants are guided through arts-based entrepreneurial curriculum, and are supported through the college application, enrollment, and re-entry processes, keeping them on track to their professional goals.
